We originally formed out of an evening at Bookshop Santa Cruz for those interested in a book group. Bookshop Santa Cruz gives us 10% off our selection for mentioning "Ravenous Readers" at the cash register. We meet the first Thursday of every month to discuss our book selection from last time. We're open to new members who are willing to come to meetings, bring their ideas for our next book choice, and discuss the book we've read. Come and meet others who are just as fascinating as you!
There are no upcoming Meetups.
The Astrology for Horoscope Readers meetup is for people who know some astrology and want to know more. It’s an opportunity to have fun and talk about astrology with others in a relaxed setting. This isn’t a formal class but more of a group learning experience. Everyone is welcome. I started this group because I find astrology fascinating (I've been a professional astrologer for 17 years) and want to meet others who feel the same way.
Come and meet other local readers and followers of The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron. We'll have creativity classes every month or so--some focused on writing, some on art. NO experience is necessary!
There will also be the opportunity to participate in a 12-week class following the chapters of the book--or other books by Julia Cameron.

Whether you're young or old, reading a play aloud together can be lots of fun and a great way to meet new characters. Our goal is to bring people of different backgrounds together to experience the fun, drama and the joy of reading a play. Whether you want to take on a big role or you want to listen along, you're welcome here! As we build we'll select a play and a location and get together once a month to take on the pages.

***DISCLAIMER: Girls are allowed :) ... if you fit the description and like to hang out as one of the guys then join up! *** THE SITUATION: During the day, you're a young professional. When you're with the significant other, you're the best boyfriend/husband ever (that is, unless you're single... then you're just the guy that enjoys his mom's cooking). But a lot of the time, you're a guy that just wants to do guy stuff. You want to talk about Natalie Portman, sports, comics, and food. You want …
Thrillers are awesome! Well, some, right? I wanted to get a group of people together to read thrillers and talk about them. What we liked or didn't, how the story developed, why some things worked and not others, or compare them to other things we've read. This is not a brainy book club, it is meant to be fun, open minded and for people who like to express their opinion and don't get angry if others don't share it. I'm from Spain, so I'm super opinionated and differences in opinions will always …
Libertarians tend to be voracious readers and learners. Now there is a Libertarian Book Club in the South Bay for us. There are so many great philosophy, economics, public policy books - both fiction and non-fiction out there. Let the reading, learning and discussions begin.

Welcome! This is a fun social co-ed book club for people of all ages (must be 18 years or older) who love reading. I used to read quite a bit when I was younger and in school but as I started working I found that my time was very limited and slowly stopped reading. I'd like to get back into reading at least one book a month. I would like to start this book club in the South Bay, specifically the San Jose area because this is where I live, so that as I read I can share my ideas and comments to ot …
