Dear readers, I would love to put together a group of women who would like to meet once a month in one of our homes to talk about books and life. This group will share book recommends, swap books and read/discuss a book every 1 - 2 months. We'll keep it smaller - to about 10 women so that we can really get to know each other and also chat/talk about life when we meet -- maybe over a glass of wine! During our first meetup we discovered that growing up we all used to take a flashlight to bed with …

… -  and discuss them in depth with other devoted readers.  Our meetings are 90% book discussion, and maybe 10% chit-chat.  We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds; we believe that bringing together readers of diverse backgrounds enriches our discussions.   

The Shy Chick's Book Club meets every other month (the odd months) in the Como Park area of St. Paul.  Our location is a cafe/coffee shop with good coffee, tea, sandwiches, and pastries. Members of this meet up vote for the next book via a poll (see More tab, then Polls). Life can get hectic, but not too hectic for the joy of reading!  

Let's meet monthly to discuss non-fiction related to our exciting life stage, whether it's mastering the art of living alone, encore careers, community service, rewiring for retirement, financial planning, or possibilities thinking. Our meetings of 10-12 readers will be held near New Brighton/St. Anthony/Roseville. Let's forge meaningful literary and social connections!
