I wanted to start this book club because I adore books and always wanted to be a part of a book club but I work non-traditional hours and was never able to get meet up with groups. I figure there have to be more fellow book nerds like myself who want to read and discuss books in social venues...but they just can't do it at the "normal" times.

Meet other like-minded, avid book readers. Always looking for suggested reading material, and people to discuss books with. Local coffee shop meetings one time a month!

Local small group of friends get together every month with a book that's voted on to be discussed. If you're interested in reading books from different genres, relaxing with a group of locals and discussing topics from these stories, join us!

This is a monthly meetup for entrepreneurs, hackers, techies, or anyone else who reads or likes the topics posted on Hacker News. We are not part of or endorsed by Hacker News or YCombinator, we're just a bunch of enthusiastic readers.

… Our goal is to provide a space for queer readers with a common interest in reading to share their knowledge and opinions.  The meetings will be held in Gay City meeting space above the Library. Smudgy Notebook is a quarterly writing workshop series, and each session will have a unique focus.  The upcoming winter session, Funny Pages, will be a six week workshop (January 17th - February 21st) taught by Kevin Skienna on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the Gay City meeting space.

Every month we read the best book as chosen by our members. We then meet and discuss them. If the book we chose has been made in to a movie or a play, then we might schedule an additional meetup event.  If you are fond of reading and would enjoy discussing books like Three Cups of Tea, The Help, and The Art of Racing in the Rain, we would love to have you as a member of our group.
